Are you always concerned about new viruses, internet pop ups, computer slowness? Let me tell you, you're not alone. One of the most common questions I get all the time is how to stop this from happening and/or what Anti-virus software solution to buy.
The answer to these questions is simpler than you might expect: Yes it can be stopped and you don't even need an application to do so. Try to follow these guidelines below and you'll thank me forever...
1. First of all, you should ALWAYS at ALL times have a password assigned to your local computer user accounts.
2. Make sure only one account has Administrator rights to the whole system. Use this account to install your applications, updates and modify system settings, etc.
3. Create a Power user account which does not provide administrator rights to the system and make sure you always use this account going forward to go online and to work on any applications you would regularly use.
4. NEVER, EVER, Ever! use the Administrator account to go surfing the web or doing anything you're not 100% sure about. This is where most users make their mistakes by allowing malicious websites perform intrusion installs on the background without they even noticing. Using the Power user account will prevent those websites from executing any form of script that can usually harm your system.
